The Fuji X-T1 firmware scheduled for release tomorrow has been released early. Version 4.30 address the bugs that were found in 4.20.

Fuji X-T1 Patch Notes:

1. Using a flashgun in Bracketing / Continuous shooting.
Optional flashguns can be used for bracketing and burst photography. When using the EF-X8, which is bundled with the X-T1, the flash fires in ISO, FILM SIMULATION and WHITE BALANCE BKT modes.
2. Instant AF Setting in manual focus
Focus and exposure can be locked when the AF-L button is used in manual focus mode. You can shoot after locking AF and AE with your thumb.
3. AF+MF operation with AF-L button
The AF-L button can be used to lock focus in AF+MF mode and you can adjust the focus more accurately using the lens’s focusing ring.

Here are the details on the new firmware updates version 1.01 for the Nikon D5300 and D5500 DSLR cameras:

Nikon D5300 firmware update version 1.01:

  • AF-P DX NIKKOR 18–55​mm f/3.5–5.6G VR and AF-P DX NIKKOR 18–55​mm f/3.5–5.6G lenses are now supported. Vibration reduction can be enabled or disabled using the new Optical VR option in the photo SHOOTING MENU, which is displayed when an AF-P DX NIKKOR 18–55​mm f/3.5–5.6G VR lens is attached.
  • The following issues have been addressed:
  • Choosing negative values for Exposure compensation in the RETOUCH MENU > NEF (RAW) processing display did not have the desired effect.
  • Continued scrolling of the menus for some languages would cause the camera to freeze.

Nikon is rumored to be currently working on a new full frame mirrorless camera. Here is what I know so far:

  • full frame camera
  • mirrorless / mirrorless-styled
  • the camera will be small (about the same size as the Olympus E-M1)
  • no EVF
  • regular F mount
  • currently being field tested
  • the official announcement is expected in late 2015 or early 2016
  • Another hint that in a way confirms this rumor is a this recently filed Nikon patent for a 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 VR full frame mirrorless lens.
